Durham, North Carolina Police Department Recovers Stolen 2011 Buick LaCrosse Assisted by the LoJack® System

The Durham, NC residents in this case were awakened just after midnight on a recent Thursday by loud music coming from their neighborhood. When they looked out the window, they discovered something even more disturbing- their Buick LaCrosse was missing from their driveway. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased, local police were able to make a safe same-day recovery.

On May 29th, 2014, the Buick’s owner reported the crime to the Durham Police Department dispatched an officer to take the stolen vehicle report, verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the LaCrosse, which was installed at Hendrick Durham Auto Mall in Durham, NC.

A short while later, officers from Durham PD received the silent homing signal for the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers. The Buick was located at the rear of an apartment complex, where it was parked and abandoned. The La Crosse was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
