The owners of a 2012 Ford F-150 were shocked to discover it missing from their home’s driveway on a recent Tuesday. Having the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their pickup turned out to be an excellent decision. Local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, recovered the damage-free truck that same day.

The Ford’s owner reported the crime to the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department on May 27th, 2014. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Lone Star for in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Baytown PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers were led to a large apartment complex off Decker Drive, where they found the Ford unoccupied and backed into a parking space with the front license tag removed. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged F-150, valued at $26,050, was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
