A Mitsubishi Mirage was stolen from a parking lot in Federal Way, WA on a recent Tuesday. With help from the LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased, local law enforcement made a same day recovery of the undamaged vehicle.

On May 13th, 2014, the crime was reported to the Federal Way Police Department by the Mitsubishi’s owner. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Mirage, which was installed at Mike Scarff Subaru in Auburn, WA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, a Department of Fish and Wildlife officer and a Washington State trooper received the silent signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Mitsubishi was located at the southbound Interstate 5 off-ramp at South 272nd Street, where it was found parked and abandoned on the shoulder. Police recovered the undamaged Mirage and soon returned it to its relieved owner.
