The owners of a Ford F-250 in Miami, FL, awoke to find their pickup missing from their driveway on a recent Friday morning. The LoJack® system that was installed when the truck was purchased proved what a smart investment it was by assisting local law enforcement in recovering the vehicle later that same day.

On May 2nd, 2014, the Ford’s owners reported the crime to the Miami Police Department. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the F-250, which was installed at World Ford in Kendall, FL.

A short while later, Miami PD officers picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen truck on their on-board LoJack tracking computer. The Ford was located near N.W. 22nd Court and 23rd Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the F-250 and soon returned it to its grateful owners.
