The owners of a BMW 325i parked their vehicle on West 197th Street in Bronx, NY, on a recent Monday, and were shocked to find out it was gone when they returned. With help from the LoJack® system that was installed at purchase, the 328i was recovered, without damage, later that same day.

On May 19th, 2014, the BMW’s owner contacted the NYPD 50th Precinct to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the 325i, which was installed at BMW of San Diego, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives from the Bronx DA’s Auto Squad picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives located the BMW, parked and unoccupied on a dead-end street in an industrial area. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged 325i was retrieved and soon returned to its extremely happy owner.
