The owner of a Lincoln Navigator drove into a gas station in Lake Worth, FL for a fill-up. While there, a young woman caught his eye. Our victim may have been hoping that she would steal his heart- but she hopped into the driver’s seat and took his SUV instead. What this thief didn’t know is that she was also taking the LoJack® system that was hidden inside the Chevy. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to make a quick, safe, same-day recovery.

On May 3rd, 2014, the Lincoln’s owner contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report his vehicle stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Fort Lauderdale Lincoln Mercury in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Within minutes of activation, PBCSO deputies picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen SUV on their on-board LoJack tracking computers. The Lincoln was located parked and abandoned on Forest Court in West Palm Beach. Police retrieved the Navigator and soon returned it to its happy owner.
