On a recent Sunday morning, the owners of a Honda Civic in Miami, FL, discovered it was missing from their Miami, FL home. Local law enforcement, with assistance from the LoJack® system hidden in the vehicle, made a safe same day recovery.

On May 11th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Miami Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Maroone Honda of Hollywood, FL.

Later that day, members of the Miami PD Auto Theft Task Force picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen car on their on-board LoJack tracking computers. The Honda was located on N.W. 25th Avenue. Officers retrieved the Civic and soon returned it to its relieved owners.
