In this case, a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is stolen from a dealership in Maryland and recovered in New Jersey by law enforcement assisted by the LoJack® system installed in the SUV.

On May 15th, 2014, the dealership‘s owner contacted the Howard County, MD Police Department to report that the Land Rover was missing. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Range Rover Sport.

A short while later, officers from the North Plainfield, NJ police picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The North Plainfield officers located the Land Rover at a private residence in nearby Watchung. With assistance from the Watchung PD, the Range Rover Sport, valued at $80,025, was located in the home’s garage and soon returned to the pleased dealership.
