The owner of a 2013 Ford Explorer was staying at a motel in Seattle, WA. While he was away from his room, it was burglarized. The thief took his keys and drove off in his SUV. This victim was smart- he had his vehicle protected with the LoJack® system at purchase. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement made a fast, safe, same day recovery of the Explorer before any damage could occur.

On April 13th, 2014, the Ford’s owner reported the crime to the Seattle Police Department. Officers verified the incident and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA.

Less than one hour later, a Seattle PD officer received the silent homing signal transmitting from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The Ford was located on Rainier Avenue South where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Explorer was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
