On a recent Wednesday, the owner of a Chrysler Voyager discovered that it had been stolen from a business parking lot. Because this minivan was protected with the LoJack® system, local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, recovered it without damage later that same day.

On April 23rd, 2014, the Chrysler’s owners contacted the Detroit Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Voyager, which was installed at Southfield Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Southfield, MI.

A short while later, officers from the Detroit Police and troopers from the Michigan State Police picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chrysler was located in the rear yard of a vacant residence, where it was parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged Voyager was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
