The owner of a 2011 Yamaha YFR discovered it missing from his apartment complex in Maple Shade, NJ on a recent Monday. The LoJack® system that he had installed just a month before proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover the bike in Pennsylvania later that same day.

On April 12th, 2014, the Yamaha’s owner contacted the Maple Shade Police Department to report that the bike had been stolen. Officers prepared a stolen vehicle report and arranged to have the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the YFR, which was installed at Motorcycle Mall in Belleville, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Philadelphia PD 39th District picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen bike on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Yamaha was located on North 27th Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. The YFR was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owner.
