Late in the evening on a recent Wednesday, the owners of a 2010 Ford Sport Trac Limited discovered their pickup was missing from their residence in Memphis, TN. The LoJack® system that was installed when the truck was purchased turned out to have been a very wise investment. Local law enforcement, aided by LoJack, recovered the vehicle without damage the next same morning.

On May 8th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Memphis Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Dobbs Ford in Memphis, TN.

The next morning, officers from the Memphis PD picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in a residential area, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Explorer was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owners. This was the second time this vehicle had been stolen and recovered by law enforcement assisted by LoJack.
