On a recent Sunday, the owners of a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder discovered it was missing from its parking space near their home in Yonkers City, NY. Because this convertible had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local law enforcement recovered it quickly, safely and without any damage.

The Mitsubishi’s owner contacted the Yonkers City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen on May 4th, 2014. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Eclipse, which was installed at Five Towns Mitsubishi in Inwood, Long Island, NY.

A short while later, detectives from the Bronx DA’s Auto Squad picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen convertible on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives located the Mitsubishi parked and unoccupied at the intersection of Cedar Ave. and Fordham Rd. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged Eclipse was retrieved and soon returned to its extremely happy owners.
