This case involves a Saturn Aura stolen in Lakewood, CO on a recent Wednesday. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased proved its value by assisting local law enforcement in recovering it that same day.

On April 30th, 2014, the Saturn’s owner contacted the Lakewood Police Department and reported that her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Aura, which was installed at AutoNation Ford in Littleton, CO.

A short while later, officers from several jurisdictions (Colorado State Patrol, Mountain View, Adams County, Federal Heights and Thornton), began picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers that are installed in their patrol vehicles. The Saturn was located traveling near 80th and Conifer Streets by Adams County Sheriff’s deputies and a traffic stop was performed. Two suspects were detained and the case remains under investigation. The undamaged Aura was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner.
