This case involves a 2009 Down2Earth commercial trailer stolen in Hingham, MA, that was recovered in Warren, RI, by alert state troopers assisted by the LoJack® system installed on the machine.

On Sunday, April 20th, 2014, the company that owned the Down2Earth reported it missing to the Hingham Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the trailer.

A short while later, officers from Massachusetts and troopers from the Rhode Island State Police were picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen trailer on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The RI troopers located the Down2Earth in Warren, RI, with a pickup truck on it. A suspect at the location was taken into custody. The trailer was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
