It was early in the afternoon on a recent Monday when the Worcester, MA residents in this case discovered their Toyota Camry was missing from in front of their home, where they had parked it the night before. The LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased certainly proved its value. With LoJack’s help, local police recovered the car in less than three hours after activation.

On April 21st, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Worcester Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Herb Chambers Toyota in Auburn, MA.

A short while later, officers with the Worcester PD began picking up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was located near the intersection of Plantation and Boylston Streets, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owners.
