A resident of the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY, discovered her SUV was missing on a recent Wednesday. The LoJack® system installed in her vehicle proved its worth by helping local law enforcement make a fast, safe recovery.

On April 30th, 2014, the Lincoln’s owner of a 2008 Lincoln Navigator contacted the NYPD 77th Precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Navigator, which was installed at Manhattan Ford Lincoln Mercury in New York, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the NYPD Auto Crime Division picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen SUV on their LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lincoln was located on a community drive in the rear of some private houses in Flatbush. A resident of one of the buildings was taken into custody. The Navigator, in excellent condition, was soon returned to its elated owner.
