When a Jaguar XJ8 was stolen on a recent Tuesday in West Valley, UT, its owners were grateful that there was a LoJack® system installed in their vehicle. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the car that same day and detained four suspects in the crime.

On April 29th, 2014, the owners of the Jaguar contacted the West Valley City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the XJ8, which was installed at Bauer Jaguar in Santa Ana, CA.

A short while later, an officer with the West Valley City PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car using the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Jaguar was located in nearby Taylorsville, where it was found occupied by four individuals. The suspects ran away, but were quickly rounded up and taken into custody. The undamaged XJ8 was soon returned to its relieved owners.
