When the owners of a construction company discovered a 2013 Multiquip Generator had been stolen from their job site in Fort Worth, TX, they knew it had been a smart decision to have the LoJack® system installed when they purchased the machine. With LoJack’s help, local law enforcement recovered the generator later that same day.

On April 7th, 2014, the Multiquip’s owner contacted the Fort Worth Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the machine’s information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the generator.

A short while later, a Dallas PD flight crew picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen generator on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The Multiquip was found at a private residence, parked and abandoned in the driveway. The flight crew directed ground units to the location, and the generator, valued at $25,000, was retrieved and soon returned to the job site.
