On a recent Monday, the owner of a Chevrolet Suburban discovered it missing from the parking lot of their gated townhome community. The LoJack® system that was installed when the vehicle was purchased helped local police recover it later that same day.

On April 28th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Suburban, which was installed at Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD Auto Theft Squad picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Chevy was located at a motel, parked and unoccupied. After a brief surveillance, two males entered the vehicle and attempted to drive away. A traffic stop was initiated, and the two suspects were taken into custody. The Suburban was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owners.
