The owners of a Toyota Prius left their vehicle in a parking garage in Oklahoma City, OK, on a recent Wednesday. When they returned to pick up their car, they discovered it was missing. The LoJack® system that was installed when the Prius was purchased helped local police recover it that same day.

On April 23rd, 2014, the owner of the Prius contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Prius, which was installed at Palm Beach Toyota in West Palm Beach, FL.

A short while later, a pilot with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Air Support Unit picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computer installed in the aircraft. The Toyota was located at a private residence. The pilot requested ground support from the OHP and the Oklahoma City Police. Two occupants inside the vehicle were taken into custody. The Prius was retrieved in good condition and was soon returned to its relieved owner.
