In this case, a Ford F-250 was stolen from its owner’s workplace, a construction site in Newark, NJ. The LoJack® system that was installed when the pickup was purchased helped local law enforcement recovered it quickly and safely.

On April 24th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Newark Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the F-250, which was installed at DiFeo Communipaw Auto Group in Clifton, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in the rear yard of a vacant house on Clinton Ave., where it was parked and abandoned. The deputies retrieved the F-250 and soon returned it to its relieved owner.
