The Portland, OR residents in this case woke up on a recent Thursday to a scary sight- their Toyota 4Runner was not where they had parked it the previous evening. These victims were grateful for the LoJack® system installed inside their SUV because, with LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover it, without damage, in less than an hour after activation.

On April 24th, 2014, the Toyota’s owners contacted the Portland Police Bureau to report the incident. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the 4Runner, which was installed at Rosenthal Auto Outlet in Alexandria, VA.

A short while later, a Portland PB officer received the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Toyota was located on Steele Street, where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged 4Runner was soon returned to its thankful owner.
