On a recent Wednesday, the owner of a Ford Taurus in Newark, NJ, discovered his vehicle missing from his home. Thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, it was recovered without damage that same day.

On April 9th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Newark Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the Taurus, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Clifton, NJ, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, deputies from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in a parking garage where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Taurus was retrieved and soon returned to its pleased owner.
