The Portland, Oregon residents in this case last saw their Chevrolet Aveo parked at their residence around 7:15 AM on a Wednesday morning. The next day, they discovered it missing from their driveway. Thanks to local law enforcement, with help from the LoJack® system installed inside the vehicle, the Aveo was recovered later that same day.

On April 10th, 2014, the Chevy’s owners contacted the Portland Police Bureau to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC stolen vehicle database. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Aveo, which was installed at Rydell Chevrolet in Northridge, CA.

A short while later, Portland officers received the silent homing signals transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. The Chevy was located on SE 77th Avenue where it was found parked and abandoned. The undamaged Aveo was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
