This case involves a Hyundai XG350 stolen in Washington, DC, that was recovered the same day by police in Arlington, VA, assisted by a LoJack® system in the car that was installed in College Park, MD.

On April 16th, 2014, the Hyundai’s owner contacted the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in the XG350, which was installed at College Park Hyundai in College Park, MD, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives from the Arlington County, VA Police Department picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Hyundai was found traveling on S. Frederick Street in Arlington. The detectives performed a traffic stop and arrested the two occupants. The XG350 was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owners.
