The New Orleans, LA resident in this case had her 2011 Honda CR-V stolen via armed robbery directly in front of her home. The LoJack® system installed when the SUV was purchased made this dreadful experience a little less painful by helping local police recover it that same day.

On April 10th, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their SUV was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack transponder concealed in in the CR-V, which was installed at Royal Honda in Metairie, LA, was then automatically activated.

Just minutes later, a couple of patrol officers from NOPD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located on a street in the Holy Cross area, where it was parked and abandoned. The CR-V, which was in great shape, was retrieved and soon returned to its pleased owner.
