In this case, air and ground officers combine forces with the LoJack® system to recover an Audi A4 stolen from its owner’s residence in Jonesboro, GA.

On April 6th, 2014, the Audi’s owner contacted the Clayton County Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the A4, which was installed at Franklin Motors in Franklin Park, IL.

A short while later, a Clayton County PD flight crew picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their helicopter. The air unit located the Audi parked and abandoned on the street and requested ground assistance. Ground officers retrieved the A4 and soon returned it to its grateful owner.
