When you have the LoJack® system installed in your car, truck, van or motorcycle, the silent homing signal that is activated when you report your vehicle as stolen to the police will work in ANY LoJack covered state in the entire US. The following case is a great example- a 2010 Toyota RAV4, protected by a LoJack unit installed in NJ and stolen at gunpoint in AZ is recovered by law enforcement in NV.

On April 9th, 2014, the Toyota’s owners were visiting a tourist venue in Flagstaff, AZ, when they were the victims of an armed assault. After the suspects took off in their SUV, the victims immediately contacted the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the RAV4, which was installed at Toyota of Hackensack, NJ.

A while later, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Toyota was traveling in a neighborhood just north of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus. A K-9 Sergeant performed a traffic stop with backup and arrested the two occupants. The RAV4 was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owners.
