The Florida resident in this case was at work on a Saturday evening. When her shift finally ended, she went to the parking lot and discovered her Dodge Durango had been stolen. Local police, assisted by the LoJack® system installed inside the SUV, were able to recover it later that same night.

On January 25th, 2014, the Dodge’s owner contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report her vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Durango, which was installed at Enterprise Car Sales in Victorville, CA.

A short while later, North Palm Beach PD officers picked up the silent homing signal from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The Dodge was found parked and abandoned in Riviera Beach. Local officers arrived at the scene, and the Durango was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
