The owner of a Subaru Impreza in Winter Park, FL parked his vehicle in his driveway on a recent Tuesday evening, and awoke the next day to find it gone. The LoJack® system that he had installed to protect his asset did its job. Police recovered the car later that same day.

On February 5th, 2014, the Subaru’s owner contacted the Winter Park Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Impreza.

A short while later, deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Subaru was located at an apartment complex near the Orlando airport, where it was parked and abandoned. After a short surveillance, the Impreza was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
