The Honda Civic in this case was taken by the perpetrators of an armed robbery that took place in front of its owner’s home.  Thanks to the LoJack® system installed in the vehicle, recovery was made by police in just a few minutes after activation, and a suspect was taken into custody as well.

On February 21st, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Premier Honda in New Orleans, LA.

Just a few minutes later, patrol officers from the New Orleans PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Honda was located in the driveway of a private residence in Esplanade Ridge. As the officers approached, two passengers fled on foot but the driver was arrested. The undamaged Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner. This was the second incident where this car had been stolen and recovered by police aided by LoJack.
