On a recent Thursday, the owners of a Ford F-250 discovered their truck missing from their driveway in Houston, TX. Local police, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the pickup was purchased, were able to recover it that same day.

On April 3rd, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the F-250, which was installed at Texas Motors Ford in Fort Worth, TX.

A short while later, an officer from the Houston PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officer located the Ford on the shoulder of West Montgomery Road, where it was parked and unattended. The F-250 was retrieved and soon returned to its appreciative owner.
