The Houston, TX residents in this case were shopping at a local mall on a recent Thursday.  Unfortunately, by the time they decided to leave, a thief had already done some ‘shopping’ in the parking lot and taken their Honda Ridgeline. The bad situation was made better because of a previous purchase these victims had made- the LoJack® system, which was installed when they bought the truck. With help from LoJack, local police were able to recover the pickup later that same day.

On April 3rd, 2014, the Honda’s owner contacted the Houston police department to report that their truck was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Ridgeline, which was installed at John Eagle Honda in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda in a covered parking garage on San Felipe Street, where it was parked and unattended. Officers retrieved the Ridgeline and quickly returned it to its happy owners.
