The Sparks, NV residents in this case discovered their Ford F-350 missing from their driveway on a recent Tuesday. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed when the truck was purchased, it wasn’t missing for long. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover the pickup that same day.

On February 11th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted the Sparks Police Department to report that their pickup was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Ford F350, which was installed at Lake Elsinore Ford in Lake Elsinore, CA, was then automatically activated.

Less than an hour later, officers with the Sparks Police as well as the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in a public lot on Sutro Blvd in Sparks, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged F-350 was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
