The Honda Civic LX in this case was stolen from its owners’ driveway sometime during a six hour period on a recent Wednesday. These victims were glad that their vehicle was protected with the LoJack® System. Local police, with help from LoJack, were able to recover the Civic that same day.

On March 12th, 2014, the Honda’s owners reported the crime to the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the information and entered the car’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Gresham Toyota in Gresham, OR.

Later that same day, Portland Police officers received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars.  The Honda was located on SE 162nd Avenue, where it was found parked and abandoned.  The undamaged Civic was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
