The goal of the LoJack® system is to assist law enforcement in fast and safe recovery of stolen vehicles. In this case, a 2012 Toyota Camry stolen from its owner’s residence in San Diego, CA, is recovered by local police in less than a half hour after activation.

On March 13th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner reported the crime to the San Diego Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Toyota of San Diego, CA, was then automatically activated.

Within 21 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  They located the Toyota on K Street in San Diego. The undamaged Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its very happy owner.
