It was cold in Camden County, NJ, on a recent Tuesday morning, so the owner of a Honda Odyssey decided to leave his minivan running for a while to warm it up before he drove to work. Unfortunately, the unlocked vehicle attracted the attention of a passing thief who drove away in it. The LoJack® system that was installed when the Odyssey was purchased made the situation better by helping local police recover it in less than two and a half hours after activation.

On March 11th, 2014, the Honda’s owner reported the incident to the Camden County Metro Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit concealed in the Odyssey, which was installed at Main Line Honda in Ardmore, PA, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Camden County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen minivan on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Honda in a housing project lot, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Odyssey was soon returned to its thankful owner.
