The Newark, NJ resident in this case discovered his Toyota Tacoma missing from its parking spot in front of his home on a recent Sunday evening. Thanks to the LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his pickup, local police were able to recover it by the next morning.

On March 16th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner reported his truck was stolen to the Newark Police Department. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Muller Toyota in Clinton, NJ.

A short time later, a police officer from the Newark PD picked up the homing signals coming from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer located the Toyota in the Ironbound section of Newark, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Tacoma was soon returned to its relieved owner.
