In this case, a JLG Boom Lift is stolen from a construction site in Miami, FL, and recovered in less than 90 minutes after activation, thanks to the excellent work of local law enforcement with assistance from the LoJack® system.

On January 7th, 2014, the construction company contacted the Miami Police Department to report their equipment stolen. Officers prepared a stolen vehicle report and theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine police procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the boom lift.

A short while later, Miami PD officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen boom lift on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The JLG was located in a business lot on N.E 22nd Street, where it was parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the boom lift and soon returned it to the job site.
