The Normandy Park, WA residents in this case returned home from work on a Thursday to a horrifying scene. Their door had been kicked in, their home had been burglarized, and the thieves took off in their Chevrolet Corvette. It’s a good thing that these victims protected their vehicle with the LoJack® System. Local police, aided by LoJack, were able to recover the ‘Vette in less than two and a half hours after activation.

On January 23rd, 2013, the Chevy’s owners reported the crimes to the Normandy Park Police Department. Officers entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Corvette, which was installed at Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner, WA.

A short while later, a Seattle PD officer and the flight crew of a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on their onboard LoJack tracking computers. The Chevy was located on 30th Avenue South, where it was parked and abandoned. The undamaged Corvette was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
