The owner of a 2012 Toyota Camry parked her car near her residence on a recent Sunday and was shocking to discover it missing early that afternoon. The LoJack® system that she had installed when purchasing her vehicle proved to have been a great investment. With LoJack’s help, local police were able to recover her Camry, quickly and safely, later that same day.

On March 16th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the NYPD 30th Precinct to report her vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Camry, which was installed at Toyota of Manhattan in New York, NY.

A short while later, officers assigned to the NYPD 50th Precinct picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota, parked and unoccupied at an outdoor lot in the Bronx. After a brief surveillance, the Camry was retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
