The owner of a 2013 Dodge Dart in Phoenix, AZ, left his vehicle at a body shop for repair work after an accident, but was shocked to discover the business was broken into overnight. The thieves located his keys and took off in his car. The LoJack® system he had installed when purchasing his Dart helped local law enforcement recover it in less than four hours after activation.

On January 18th, 2014, the body shop owner contacted Phoenix Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Dart, which was installed at Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Phoenix, AZ.

A short while later, the flight crew on a Phoenix PD helicopter began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the onboard LoJack tracking computer. They located the Dodge parked and abandoned on West Polk Street and alerted ground officers. The Dart was quickly retrieved and soon returned to its relieved owner.
