An Infiniti G37 was stolen overnight from an auto auction lot in Arizona in this case. This particular vehicle had the advantage of being protected by the LoJack® system, so, while it might have been ‘going, going’ thanks to the thief, it was only actually ‘gone’ for 97 minutes after activation before law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, recovered it.

On January 28th, 2014, the crime was reported to Phoenix Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NCIC police computer. This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the G37, which was installed at Infiniti of Peoria, IL.

A short while later, deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office began picking up the homing signal from the stolen car with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies discovered the Infiniti traveling near I-10 and Jackrabbit Road. After a short chase, the car was parked and abandoned near 192nd Avenue and Roosevelt Street. The driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. The G37 was retrieved and soon returned to the auction lot.
