It was the end of the workday on a recent Wednesday when a construction crew in Philadelphia, PA noticed that their rented Airman Compressor was missing from their job site.  Luckily, the rental company that owned the equipment was smart enough to protect it with the LoJack® system. Local law enforcement, with the assistance of LoJack, recovered the machine in less than an hour after activation.

On February 26th, 2014, the renting contractor reported the crime to the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Auto Squad. Officers verified the theft and entered the machine’s information into the Philadelphia Police Crime Information Center and the Pennsylvania State Police Computer System. This action automatically activated the LoJack device installed in the compressor.

A short while later, officers assigned to the Philadelphia Police Narcotics Strike Force ad picked up the homing signals from the stolen machine on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Airman was located on a gated, fenced and locked lot. The compressor was retrieved and soon returned to the job site.
