The owners of a Honda Accord in Portland, OR, were away for a couple of days and arrived home to discover their Honda Accord had been stolen. Thanks to the LoJack® system installed when the car was purchased, it was recovered by law enforcement in just over an hour after activation.

On March 6th, 2014, the owners returned home, discovered the car was missing, and immediately contacted the Portland Police Bureau. Officers verified the information and entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NCIC stolen vehicle database.  This routine police action automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Accord, which was installed at Gardena Honda in Gardena, CA.

Not very long after activation, a Portland Police K9 officer received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The Honda was located parked and abandoned in the area of SE 81st and St. Francis Streets. The Accord was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
