It was late on a recent Tuesday evening when the owner of a Toyota Tacoma in Baltimore, MD, discovered that his pickup had been stolen. The truck was gone, but not for long, thanks to local police assisted by the LoJack® system. With LoJack’s help, the Tacoma was recovered in just over three and a half hours after activation.

On February 25th, 2014, the Toyota’s owner contacted the Baltimore County Police Department to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Tacoma, which was installed at Russel Toyota in Baltimore, MD

Within a short period of time, officers from the Baltimore County Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Toyota at a residence on Gelston Drive in Baltimore, where it was parked and occupied by a suspect who was soon taken into custody.  The undamaged Tacoma was then retrieved and quickly returned to its relieved owner.
