The LoJack® System Helps Cobb County, Georgia Police Recover Stolen Chrysler 300 in Two Hours, 24 Minutes

The Decatur, GA resident in this case had a shocking wake-up call on a recent Thursday when he discovered his Chrysler 300 missing from his driveway, where he had parked it the previous evening. This victim’s vehicle was not gone for long thanks to the LoJack® system, which helped local police recover the 300 in less than two and a half hours after activation.
On March 5th, 2013, the Chrysler’s owner contacted DeKalb County Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s VIN number into the NCIC police computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the 300, which was installed at Team Chrysler Jeep in Lithia Springs, GA.
A short while later, a Cobb County PD officer began receiving the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the Chrysler to a rural area where it was traveling with four occupants. After a brief chase, the suspects made a sudden stop and all four ran. A K9 officer was called to the scene to assist, and three of the suspects were apprehended. The 300, which was in good condition, was soon returned to its very glad owner.
