When a Ford Mustang convertible was stolen recently in Summit, IL, its owner was relieved that the LoJack® system had been installed in his car. With LoJack’s help, the Mustang was recovered by local law enforcement in less than two hours after activation.

On February 28th, 2014, the Ford’s owner contacted Summit Police to report the crime. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Mustang, which was installed at Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA.

A short while later, an Illinois State Trooper picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper located the Ford in a hotel lot where it was parked and unoccupied. The undamaged Mustang was retrieved and soon returned to its grateful owner.
