This case involves a Chevrolet Silverado stolen in Arizona and recovered in California by an auto theft task force assisted by the LoJack® system.

On February 16th, 2014, the Chevy’s owner contacted the Mesa, AZ Police Department after discovering the truck was missing. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Silverado, which was installed at Brown and Brown Chevrolet in Mesa, AZ.

A short while later, members of the Riverside County Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID) picked up the homing signal from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The Chevy was located in front of a restaurant, parked and unoccupied. The Silverado was retrieved and soon returned to its rightful owner.
